Thanks, Tex [shoutout]! Finally found a truck after waiting for the right deal: '01 Ranger. I actually made the deal on Tuesday. I spent the last few days doing (mainly making the mechanic do, I mean) some work on it (new tires, exhaust repairs, fuel filter). Wanted to make sure it was the vehicle I was definitely going to keep before announcing my choice to the world.
Crown Select (part of Crown Ford) was okay dealing with, but I hate how car sales people are so set on making the sale TODAY. Regardless, it's great to have A/C again - plus an automatic with cruise control. I never realized how low to the ground the old TEX-K (mine was white, with a red topper and no sport stripes) was until I started driving the new "compact" truck. Hopefully it will keep me happy for at least ten years, eh?

Very nice!!! Is that the one you were looking at when we chatted before?
Please tell me you still have the Tex-K? Denise won't let me have it but perhaps we can keep it in the family? I'm thinking Grady or Uncle Jim. Although they'll have to sink in a lot of moolah to get it running good...

Umm. It was time to retire the bugger (I traded it in). I'd feel bad passing it off to someone I know at this point. It wasn't hopeless, but definitely would take more money than it's worth to keep it in shape for more than another year or two.
