Update: Zepfanman.com will not be the host for the Scripture Database. I would like to start from the ground up.
I've always had an interest in scriptures (stemming from my Christian background) from all different kinds of religions. I apologize for the many links and lack of consolidated information on this topic, but I want this to be a simple start for a new Scripture Database
website, or whatever creative name that we can come up with. This post is mainly a commission for help with this project: to create a dynamic website using web standards and open source contributions on the topic of religious texts. See my Bloglines post for more details.
I realize that I will have to be the spearhead in order to make this new site a reality, but it would be great to have input from many experts in various related fields, from religious studies to web design (two of my own passions). Who's in??? Do you agree that a site like this is needed? I feel that so many people have a narrow understanding of the religious tradition that they were brought up in (or a lack of upbringing, as well as a lack of understanding of others' beliefs).
I will elaborate on my ideas for this new website if I discover that there's an interest in it. If people start creating several comments here, please take the initiative to start a new thread in a more established message board interface, such as the Open Source Theology Forum, the Ebla Forum, Beliefnet, or your own favorite board.
For more about me, please peruse my website, including a recent topic from my Sunday school class message board. Thanks for your help and prayers.
