I started to write my April Words: To whom God speaks
, but I haven't had a chance to put enough time into it. I keep running across related ideas and I'm trying to figure out how I can fit them all together. So instead of throwing up a draft version of April Words, I'll just skip this month and hopefully have it ready for May! So what is it that's been keeping me so busy these past couple of weeks?
At the end of March, I was at my brother's house in Charlotte for a long weekend. I was then at Ridgecrest on business the following week. That Saturday, the 2nd, was a busy day (Megan helped with the early morning church yardsale, we then volunteered at the women's mission, and we had a wedding shower that evening after some Saturday shopping - congrats Chris and Tracy!). Sunday was beautiful and sunny so I was glad when my friend Jeremy asked to join him in 9 holes of golf. It was only my second game ever, the last was when I was about 10. I don't have much to compare to, but Harpeth Hills seemed affordable but nice, especially for a public course. I spent the next few evenings trying to fix a friend's laptop DVD burner. Like most things these days, the only solution I could come up with was to replace the DVD drive.
Speaking of fixing things, I'm trying to figure out how to manage an official side business of PC work and web design. I mention both because I've had to create an invoice for my contracting services working on WoodmontBaptist.com; I wanted to have something other than just my name on the document, so I've been unsuccessfully brainstorming ideas. I'd like to include PC work in the side business since I never know what to charge people when I help them out; everyone insists on paying me something!
Back to the grind… The rest of this past week we spent on a trip up to Philadelphia; it's been a year since we were up there last. I was a groomsman in my high school buddy's wedding. I'm sure I missed a few things here and there, but you get the idea. Gotta finish plans for Megan's birthday tomorrow….
