If you see the text of this paragraph, then you are viewing my site without any (or with limited) stylesheets. I suggest using the site search or going directly to the page content using the Skip Navigation link at the top of the page; Skip to Full Menu has similar results. Use the About link to learn more about Zepfanman.com in general.

As this year comes to a close, entry 68 reviews my internet and blog discoveries in 2004 (Zepfanman's Best of the Web 2004 = ZBoW). Use the Wayback Machine [Z] if any of these links are dead. There will likely be several edits (which I'll clearly make special note of) to this page, as well. Here's a table of contents for quick access ([Z] denotes a hover-over internal link):
Update: Kevin released Project: New.
Web standards and the terms that go with it are unknown to too many people. Molly, Kevin (see his Project: New, started in mid-February '05), and Derek (& his commenters) are realizing that we need better ways to show people and organizations how and why their websites should comply with standards. To start, here's a quick web standards definition: principles recommended by W3C that make the Web accessible to all users (despite differences in culture, education, ability, resources, and physical limitations).
Update: Zepfanman.com will not be the host for the Scripture Database. I would like to start from the ground up.
I've always had an interest in scriptures (stemming from my Christian background) from all different kinds of religions. I apologize for the many links and lack of consolidated information on this topic, but I want this to be a simple start for a new Scripture Database
website, or whatever creative name that we can come up with. This post is mainly a commission for help with this project: to create a dynamic website using web standards and open source contributions on the topic of religious texts. See my Bloglines post for more details.
Dec22 update: See the full ZBoW.
I've been spending the month scouring the web for Best of lists for 2004. While I'm not ready for my full entry (it will highlight my own website's development as well as international headlines; ZBoW, for short), here is a preview of what's to come later in the month. I am basically adding to the Fimoculous.com Lists: 2004, a great compilation that will grow in the next thirty to sixty days.

Stick it to The Man. Download a torrent client and grab some 24 (Kiefer Sutherland) episodes from Orb's Torrent Site Status (Suprnova recently met its demise) - Torrent Typhoon seems to be a good new meta search service, too. While Blockbuster is ten times worse, Megan and I were a little disappointed with Hollywood Video last night.
