So much to say about my new Flickr photo account. The main reason that I have switched to a third party service to host my photos is that I'm running out of space on my own website! In addition to having free, unlimited space, Flickr (currently in beta) has several bonus features that other sites lack: tags, community, API access, and upcoming Yahoo! integration. Two things that Flickr needs are the ability to order prints and ability to have a heirarchy of albums, like Megan > Wedding > Hair on my integrated Gallery; both functionalities are apparently coming soon.

The recommendation for me to take state route 14 instead of interstate 25 was an excellent one. I made my regular drive from Glorieta to Albuquerque this afternoon. Several staff members took me to lunch at Copa de Oro and suggested I try a more scenic route this time. This took me into the mountains on the east side of Sandia Peak. A few shots from my Treo was the best I could capture on camera....
I pretty much took a photo journal of our trip. The weather was great and I can't remember any major bummers.
Happy Thanksgiving! One lesson I always enjoyed about turkey day is God's providence. Below is a passage from Matthew 6 (from the Message Bible) and a few things I (with a little help from Noah) am grateful for.
Is it normal to be mowing the yard on November 21st? The weather and season has made for beautiful travel, incidentally.
I'm posting this a week late, but I wanted to spread the word about this concert Megan and I went to last Saturday. Mindy Smith and Tift Merritt are wrapping up their tour together, but Smith is a local and she'll be at the Opry next Saturday; you have probably heard her version of "Jolene" on the radio. Merritt and York are not as well known yet.
A full summary (and photo album - I recommend using the slideshow feature) of our vacation in Santa Fe and Albuquerque this past week. Unlike my previous Glorieta trips, my wife was able to fly in to join me this Wednesday. I was overjoyed to have her with me. After running around on the job for another day, Megan and I drove off into the sunset for one of two nights at the Albuquerque Hampton.
I thought this blog would make my website editing more efficient. Unfortunately, I've been so obsessed with other blogs that I end up being overwhelmed by all the cool stuff I could be posting. Plus, I take way too much time looking at these other blogs. I suggest subscribing to some of them, or keeping track of my blogroll (fun feeds from friends, web experts, and other believers) through your own Bloglines account. See especially RealLivePreacher.com, also a new book by the same name. By the way, I created another new album today, too.
This weekend's interstate drive was probably the best fifteen hours that I've ever spent on the road. Weather from Nashville to Charlotte and back was just perfect, and I've got pictures to show it: check out new shots in the 04reese (majority of new photos), 0408, & images albums.
Yet another toy added to the list of wordly goods. I've had my Treo 600 (Verizon) for almost two weeks now, and I'm racking up comparison points to the Visor Digital Link (aka VisorPhone; Sprint) that I had for a year. Expect frequent updates to this review (and likely other entries about the Treo in the blog) . To start, the main reasons I replaced the phone: company discount for Verizon, couldn't hear people using the Visor phone, and the thing was just too big.
These past few days were quite interesting. Took a few shots with both digital cameras (got one on my new Treo - see the upcoming blog entry about that purchase): 0408 Gallery. It was sad coming back to work, especially since I'm really starting to hate spending 8 hours of my day in an ice box with no windows. The following is a fun meander through Labor Day Weekend at the Megs'n'JJ residence.
Thanks, Tex [shoutout]! Finally found a truck after waiting for the right deal: '01 Ranger. I actually made the deal on Tuesday. I spent the last few days doing (mainly making the mechanic do, I mean) some work on it (new tires, exhaust repairs, fuel filter). Wanted to make sure it was the vehicle I was definitely going to keep before announcing my choice to the world.
