Led Zeppelin Links (from best to worst)

A continuation of the desire for LZE to be a map to get to the Led Zeppelin info that you need. Why do it myself when so many others have already blazed that trail? Intro edited '04Sep30

Led-Zeppelin.com - Newest news, tours, audio (Real, .wav) / video (QuickTime, Real), reviews, discography, info on the individuals
Achilles Last Stand - This is led-zeppelin.org which is basically .com's companion.
Led Zeppelin - Tight But Loose - GREAT news site - "best coverage from this side of the Atlantic" (that would be the east side, as are most of these LZ fan sites).

banner1.jpg (9904 bytes)

Led Zeppelin Live - purdy nice new site with lists (and pics) of CDs, cassettes, VHS, and DVDs from Zep shows.
Accurate Led Zeppelin Lyrics - a very simple site, but well-researched. Added '04 spring.
Buckeye's Best of Led Zeppelin on the Net - Not a great design, but certainly a lot of good resources here. The huge Badgeholders LZ mailing list is centered here. Jeff Lybarger's Song of the Day is also a great companion to the Accurate Lyrics page listed above. Hoping Lybarger will continue the song explanations - I can't tell if he's already covered all of them. Edited '04Oct1
Jack Feeny reviews: Led Zeppelin - Detailed reviews of a LZ fan.
Prindle Record Reviews - Led Zeppelin - Another good site with reviews both modern and classic. The middle-schooler without a Led Zeppelin phase is a sad middle-schooler indeed. Oh, say what you will about their ridiculously operatic screaming singer, their overblown anthems, their pretentious mysticism.... Added '04Nov24
FAQ: Didn't Led Zeppelin copy (song title) from (blues artist)? - Yes, they have borrowed, stolen, morphed, covered, or however you want to put it, many songs. Wilson & Alroy's Record Reviews provides some more thoughts on this issue, calling LZ "thieves", although I think their review is great. Last, but not least, Turn Me On, Dead Man: Led Zeppelin Influences reviews four albums/CDs that are compilations of pre-Zeppelin influences. Added '04Nov24

Stairway to Middle Earth - The artwork and songs in Led Zeppelin relate to Tolkien's Lord of the Rings series. Has sites of Zep (mp3s), Tolkien, and both.
Zeppelin and Tolkien Relations Page - Similar, but not quite as extensive

Zeppelin Live - If you live near Sydney, check out this tribute band. Added '04Nov7

Led Zeppelin Outport - Cool rare LZ sounds in Shockwave.
Led Zeppelin LIVE mp3 - Server is kind of slow, but you can still get a dozen or so rare mp3s (typical bootleg audio quality) here. Added '04Nov12
Ultimate Led Zeppelin Index - Nice format, but a lot of the links don't work.  NEW mp3 section!

Ian's Led Zeppelin Page - Obscure FAQ (not as complete as "v8.1", but just an interesting run-through of stuff most people don't know about the band)
Led Zeppelin FAQ v8.1 - nice, but certainly not exhaustive

Whole Lotta Led (Hop.to/LedZeppelin) - pics and some other goodies of a person I met on the Yahoo! Zeppelin club

Led ZePPelin - 1ière page francophone québecoise de Led ZePPelin.

Jim's little Led Zeppelin Archive - large pics of the album covers and a few cheesy photos - that's all

The Led Zeppelin Homepage - official info on each song and album (studio, track time, release date, etc.). Also has good amount of rare RAudio.

LZ Official Site - Nothing very special. There's another band bio, though, from Zep's label (Atlantic Records). Edited '04Nov7

Yahoo! : Entertainment : Music : Artists : By Genre : Rock and Pop : Led Zeppelin - A long list, but you might waste your time looking at stupid sites

Old Zep sites that are now dead links :-(

Led Zeppelin Ultimate Fan Page - Trade bootlegs and join the LZ fanclub. Added to dead links '04Nov7
Live Led Zeppelin Bootlegs - Just a few mp3s, not much (last upd. 2000 Aug.). Added to dead links '04Nov7
Led Zeppelin and J.R.R. Tolkien - In-depth analysis of many songs. Added to dead links '04Nov7
The Black Mountain Side - Band equipment info, good discography/lyrics, and history of the band. Seems to be at a standstill, though, as of July '98. Added to dead links '04Nov7
DragonsOfDarkness.com - underground mp3s and whatnot - a very mythical and spiritual site
Led Zeppelin - Omnipotent Gods of Music - cool looking site with lots of pics and rare mp3s, plus mp3 links!
The Zeplist - Just about every live Zep show plus compilation CDs, Page/Plant, Black Crowes, pics and videos, too!
Led Zeppelin - The Master Compilation - Not recently updated, but full of info. Has midis, tabs, and lyrics for every song.
Zep's Homepage - good links and mp3s (please ignore 'nude celebs' link!)
Web-Zeppelin - rare mp3s, discussion, and good trading
Led Zeppelin Live Wire - 'weekly' mp3 downloads.  Not much, otherwise.
Led Zeppelin Online - Has small bios of each band member and medium sized album covers. John also started to review each and every Zeppelin song, but he only got through the first two albums!
The Led Zeppelin Digital Project - contact him for lots of bootlegs!
Evermore Led Zeppelin Literature - analysis of albums and songs. Very cool stuff here!
Led Zeppelin Biography - another info site that's got a lot of text
Zepp Gallery - lots of rare pics (one page, long load!). The home page of this has some strange artistry.
Jason's Led Zeppelin Page - short mp3 clips of songs, lyrics, and the best part - a few dozen pics
Adam's Led Zeppelin Page - if you find midis as amusing as me, you'll find that's all this site is good for

General Music Links [Z]

CDNOW (bought by Amazon.com) - The best resource for music purchases, as well as information on any musician you want! UBL, allmusic (AMG has movie and video game guides, too), and Musicforce (Christian) will cover any other pop/rock musicians you can't find. Edited '04Nov8
Super Seventies RockSite
Oth.net - FTP search (mp3s!).
