The new Foo Fighters album came out on Tuesday. I practically passed out while listening to it for the first time on a stationary bike today. I had heard a couple of the first singles before, but I still haven’t read any reviews, so here’s my own quick Wasting Light first listen rating for each track.

A few years ago, I posted a journal entry on Last.fm about film scores (from 2001: A Space Odyssey to The Dark Knight) and why I like so many of them. Here’s a little update – adding Benjamin Button, The Social Network, and Tron: Legacy.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us most. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and famous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that people won’t feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in all of us. And when we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” – Nelson Mandela

In a few hours, America’s favorite gawking event will begin, first with the red carpet at 7pm EST on ABC followed by the awards from 8:30-11:30. Here are my predictions. I’ll probably be Tweeting and on Facebook during the event.

I’ve listened to a lot of good episodes from various podcasts since October (when I listed my favorite subscriptions). Here are a few that I rated the highest. Most of them should still be available to download, or at least to stream.
