The 3rd annual preview of summer movies… that I’d like to see, so you can count on several indie flicks to be part of this list. I’ve heard mention that this could be one of the worse summer movie seasons in years – but I couldn’t manage to narrow it down to any less than 28 films. Thor – May 6 – Already getting rave reviews with Russell Crowe-replacement Aussie.8 out of 10.- The Beaver – May 6 – Jodie Foster directs and acts with Mel Gibson.
Bridesmaids – May 11 – Like The Hangover… with SNL female cast.8 out of 10.- Hesher – May 13 – Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays a deadbeat. Also starring Natalie Portman. (Limited release.)

- The Change-Up – Aug 5 – A comedy in which a married guy (Jason Bateman) switches bodies with his best friend (Ryan Reynolds) in order to woo his co-worker (Olivia Wilde).
- Higher Ground – Aug 12 – Vera Farmiga’s spiritual directorial debut. (Limited release.)
- Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark – Aug 12 – 1973 horror remake (Guillermo del Toro, Guy Pearce, Katie Holmes).
- The Interrupters – TBA – Three “violence interrupters” try to protect their Chicago community. Documentary. (Limited release, also will be on PBS Frontline this year.
